Finger Painting and Ear Inspections

It's been literally YEARS since I have worn nail polish. It just hasn't been at the top of my list of priorities. So last week, I bought a bottle of nail polish and sat down to paint my nails after the boys had gone to bed. Benjamin came down to get a drink of water, and saw me painting my nails. He watched me finish, and then went back up to bed. The next morning, he saw my painted nails and he said, "Mommy take off sparklies." I tried to explain that it would not come off, and he got very upset and wailed, "Mommy take off sparklies!" I could not believe he was so upset about the glittery nail polish I had on my fingernails.

Cut to this morning, almost a week later. We were riding in the car on the way to take me to work, and I put my hand on the back of the seat to talk to the boys. Benjamin looked at me and said "Mommy, I like your sparklies." I was surprised that he had apparently changed his mind. Pleasantly surprised!

More surprises happened at the doctors' office this week. Benjamin, all on his own, ASKED the doctor to check his ears. I think Daddy might have passed out, but he heard it with his own two ears. I still cannot believe it as I am typing it into black and white, but it's true. This I DEFINITELY wanted to record before I forgot.
